Philae: a Ptolemaic temple moved island to island in 1980

The Isis temple complex was disassembled into 40 000 blocks and rebuilt on Agilkia, sixty metres higher than its original Philae Island, between 1972 and 1980. The relocation was the final phase of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign. A reading on the temple, the boat access, and the latest sound-and-light programme.
